Our journey started with a video that shattered our hearts – a tiny, helpless puppy in dire need of assistance. We knew we couldn’t stand idly by, so we embarked on a mission to rescue her. Marianita was miles away in Catamayo, so we prepared for the long journey ahead, knowing that we were her only hope.

Instead, she dragged herself around with her tiny snout, desperately trying to survive. Her rescuers, an elderly woman and her granddaughter, found her by chance, nestled in a cardboard box, exhausted and on the brink of death. They took her in, fed her, and gave her parasite treatment, but knew she needed more help than they could provide.
Marianita’s deformity was the result of human cruelty and negligence. Her mother, like many other neglected dogs, lacked proper nutrition and care, leading to the birth of unhealthy puppies. Marianita, though just a baby, had already suffered so much.
